I've written four songs in as many weeks. It could be called a creative spell, probably, or perhaps a product of boredom. No, actually poetry and music come from true emotion, a growth spurt of imagination. I like telling stories with songs. The pictures that the words make, the consonance and the rhyme. It surprises me that I don't have to cross out much. That the lyrics come so fast. New chords and old familiars fill out a harmony, which births a melody. Then I wait for words to come, and try to make them match in the end. Usually there is one line or phrase that sounds out of place, not quite what is needed. And sometimes it gets changed, sometimes not. More often, a different word suggests itself once I've already decided on a particular set. But I can't stop singing it the right way, so the other must be changed.
Any skill has stages. In music, these stages are quite pronounced. I have my own interpretation. The wretched squeak and stumble time at the very beginning. The more pleasant seeking of songs to play, getting quicker and more familiar with the rules. Then the boring work part, the grind. Now, I am in a place where I like to play. Where my fingers itch for an instrument when others are performing. It's no longer forced, but almost enjoyable. I still flush in a group, get nervous and such, especially with just one or two listening. But I like that people like my songs.
And a well written lyric is so satisfying.

PETER KAY'S UNIVERSAL TRUTHS
1) Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones.
2) At the end of every party there is always a girl crying.
3) One of the most awkward things that can happen in a pub is when your
pint-to-toilet cycle gets synchronised with a complete stranger.
4) Sharpening a pencil with a knife makes you feel really manly.
5) You're never quite sure whether it's against the law or not to have a
fire in your back garden.
6) Nobody ever dares make cup-a-soup in a bowl.
7) You never know where to look when eating a banana.
8) You always feel a bit scared when stroking horses.
9) The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at
the first given opportunity.
10) Every bloke has at some stage while taking a pee, flushed half way
through and then raced against the flush.
11) Its impossible to look cool whilst picking up a Frisbee.
12) Driving through a tunnel makes you feel excited.
13) Old ladies can eat more than you think.
14) You can't respect a man who carries a dog.
15) Despite constant warning, you have never met anybody who has had
their arm broken by a swan..
16) You've turned into your dad the day you put aside a thin piece of
wood specifically to stir paint with.
17) Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is not putting it
in a fruit salad.

Dogs
I have two dogs. The older one is a Jack Russell Terrier, Samson. He's a sweet dog once he knows you, but he bites strangers. My other dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Margaret. She's a very good dog, amiable and lovely.
So today, Sam comes in from the yard, covered in dirty, mucky junk. I guess he must have been smelling too humanish. They like to be dirty, I don't understand it. This was too far gone for anything but a proper bath. So I hoisted him into the tub (yes, he's spoiled) and doused him with water. It takes a while to get him wet, as the water just rolls off his back, like a duck. He doesn't move much while you're bathing him, except to inch farther and farther to the other side of the tub. Thankfully, most of the gross, icky stuff washed off as I was getting him wet. Sam looks like a thin, starving rodent when soaked. His fur must account for half of his small appearance. He doesn't mind getting bathed, really. It gives him a chance to act like a crazy dog and rub the carpet to get dry. Now I'll have to watch him when he goes out, to make sure he doesn't try to re-odorize himself.
Maggie is more my dog now. She sleeps in my big chair, and puts her nose on my knee for affection when I'm reading in my room. Both of our dogs were orphans, Sam at the pound, Maggie as a stray. I love dogs, all animals actually. I wouldn't want to be without one.

a little naive
went out with the two senioritas; sofia and stef. had crabstick in the car. so nice. i had five of em. stef was in her usual exam mood. worrying while being happy at the same time. he he he.
did you guys watched 'til death do us part' today? i didn't. i dont dare too. so depressing la. guy of my affection getting married. and he was so good looking in his wedding suit and his professionaly done hairdo, his eyes. haih!!
i've been reading this girl's blog. and it irks me to the core mannn. i know it's her personal blog and all but you don't have to be too personal right? more like self-pity only. one minute she'll tell the whole world that she's depressed because her boyfriend left her for another girl. then, she said she still love him. next she said it's okay, she's a strong girl. then, depressed again. then wanted to move on. then melancholy mode again. then new life la, what la. dungu gila!
i watched 'thirteen'. it's about this girl who be friended this hippest/wild girl in school. and they started doing stuff like, drugs, booze, sex, body piercings, wild parties. then kantoi, then the girl framed her. plots nye sungguh boleh di-predict. and her attitude adalah sungguh irritating.

Lenny's blog really wakes me up from the deep sleep I was in. I was trying so hard to be the person I am not. I lose my ground for a little while and now I am back in reality. But eventually, I am trying to pack myself up with as much skills as I can. I am thankful with what I can do now with dance compared to myself last year. but putting that aside, I am so far away from the other people. That's okay. I'll get there one day.

cheap haircuts
There was a new hair salon which opened up right across the street from the old established hair cutters' place. They put up a big sign, "WE GIVE SEVEN DOLLAR HAIR CUTS!"
Not to be outdone, the old shop put out their own sign:
"WE FIX SEVEN DOLLAR HAIR CUTS"

So, when I woke up this morning I had a good portion of the weekend off. Then this happened:
Thursday: 5:00 - Midnight
Friday: 8:00 - 4:00
Saturday: 4:00 - Midnight
Sunday: 3:00 - 9:00
Hired for 12 - 24 hours a week, getting 37 hours a week. I like that :)
However, note the only 8 hour break between Thursday night and Friday morning...owwie.
Well, I should be getting some rest, long week ahead (except lazy Wednesday).
Cheers.
